THREE TENORS BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Finbar Wright, tenor, songwriter, and poet, was born in Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland . Growing up on a farm, his musical education began at the age of six. He later studied music theory at one of the oldest schools of music in the world, The Cork School of Music. He went on to win many major singing awards and released his first album ‘Because’, produced by Phil Coulter, on the Sony Records label. Since then Finbar has recorded six solo albums and six albums with the world famous Irish Tenors with whom he has enjoyed phenomenal success all around the world. With The Irish Tenors, Finbar has performed all over the world in many prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall. The Irish Tenors also have appeared in many successful PBS TV specials. Finbar has performed at many historical world events, including the reading of the Gospel at Pope John Paul II’s legendary first Papal Mass at the Phoenix Park, Dublin, in 1979; the impressive State Dinner given in honor of U.S. President Bill Clinton at Dublin Castle in 1995; and he performed live on ‘Good Morning America’ during its coverage of President Reagan’s funeral on Capitol Hill, in 2004. He has appeared in concert with such music legends as Monserrat Caballé, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, and rock & roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis.
Anthony Kearns was born in a small Irish village in County Wexford. Anthony's interest in music began at about the age of four, and he began singing at an early age. He studied at Leinster School of Music and The College of Music in Wales. In 1998 he joined The Irish Tenors and has been with the group since its inception. The Irish Tenors have produced ten CDs to date which have sold millions of copies, and have completed several successful tours of the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Anthony is a true lyric tenor. He has toured solo in Germany, Italy, and the United States and is a popular presence in Ireland's music scene. For all his devotion to the opera, Anthony has a deep, abiding love for the music of his beloved homeland. He says, "I take great pride delivering these songs of our people all over the world.” He has incredible vocal agility, flexibility, and a sublime natural ability to color notes with grace and beauty. Whether in the realm of the classics or the traditional music of his homeland, the power and clarity in his voice expresses great truth and rich conviction. He has been featured in many challenging Operatic roles, including Don Jose in Carmen, Romeo in Romeo & Juliet, and has had many distinguished and acclaimed solo performances in his relatively short time as a professional artist.
Ronan Tynan is known for his versatile range of repertoire. It includes operatic, oratorio, concert, and popular music genres. He is a member of the Irish Tenors who have performed around the world enchanting audiences wherever they entertain. Ronan has won many impressive awards around the world for his vocal work. He is a Sony recording artist who has released more than ten titles, four of which have achieved platinum status. He has performed for Presidents George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and as the single soloist at President Ronald Reagan’s funeral. He sang at President George H. W. Bush’s 90th Birthday party. He entertained two Popes, Pope John Paul II at St. Peter’s Basilica and Pope Benedict at the concert of Hope. Ronan has a strong bond with those devoting their lives to public service. He was a frequent performer at numerous benefits and memorials for the New York Police and Fire departments following the 9/11 tragedy. Another interest of Dr. Tynan is sports. He has received eighteen gold medals and created fourteen world records while participating in the Paralympics. He is a return soloist with the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, and had the honor of singing at Derek Jeter’s final game against the Boston Red Sox. Ronan Tynan is a physician and a sought after motivational speaker.
