Active Classes

♦  DAILY BALANCE (In-Person) Instructor:  Jan
Monday – Friday 11:00 am FREE
Daily Balance is fun and all within just a half hour.  We include elements of laughter yoga, breathing and right-left brain exercises.  Some exercises are standing and some are sitting.  Great way to start your day.  Come and try the class.  You can come for just one day, once a week or, five days a week.

Become more active, energized, and empowered through this evidence based fitness program! Build fitness through cardio workouts, including light weight lifting. For all fitness levels.

Free for Parkinson’s participants – otherwise $5 Member/$10 Non-Member (In-Person & Virtual)
Every Tuesday and Thursday 1:00-1:45 p.m. Build strength and flexibility while seated. Shoes are okay to wear. Wear loose fitting comfortable clothes. Chairs are used for stability and as a balance aid but chair should be sturdy (preferably without arms or wheels).  This class is open to anyone interested!

♦  HEARTFULNESS MEDITATION (Virtual) Instructor:  Kaushik

Experience the benefits of Heartfulness meditation through a practical session where you will learn to relax the mind and feel the lightness and joy of your true nature.  You do not need to know how to meditate.

♦  RAINBOW FITNESS – LGBTQ FRIENDLY –  From Strive & Uplift Gym (In-Person)
Every Monday & Wednesday 9:30-10:40 am – FREE By Appointment
Strive and Uplift Gym is offering a 1-on-1 fitness session for anyone interested, especially those who identify as LGBTQ+. Their instructions prioritize coach support for growth, health, and longevity and help individuals discover how to move how to move confidently in their bodies! Class times are by appointment and must be
mutually agreed upon between instructor and student.

  MEDICINE DRUM CIRCLE –  $3 Members / $8 Non-Members (In Person)
Every Third Monday 3:00 – 4:00 pm FREE
Drumming in traditional cultures is known to have beneficial health effects.  Join us for drumming for your health.  Drums provided.  No experience needed.

Qi Gong for Health 10:00 -Exercises are known to be effective for improving your immunity & respiratory systems and

Mondays, 1:15-2:15pm – $5 Members / $10 Non-Member
Qi means “energy” and Gong means “to work with” so simply put Qi Gong means working with the body’s energy. The Spring Forest Qi Gong fitness classes have been developed to be easy and beneficial to practitioners. Similar to Tai Chi, Qi Gong focuses on body posture, movement, breathing, and meditation.

You need to be pre-screened prior to registering.  Participants must be independent with balance and have a steady gait.  May need medical clearance to participate.  Participants meet outside in front of the Center and walk on the Burke-Gilman Trail. Flat surface and gentle or moderate pace. Rain or Shine!

Build strength, balance, and flexibility with traditional yoga poses. Shoes are okay to wear. A yoga mat is required to participate..
