Carly Accepts City Council Donation

“All Mom did was sit in front of the TV until the center became a part of her life. Now she is involved, exercises, volunteers and has new friends” — an appreciative daughter

Every day, your donations help people find the support, services, and activities that will improve their lives.

Every weekday, many seniors get the support they need, and achieve good social, physical, and mental health, and the many benefits provided by our Center. Your donations help many seniors in your community.

Regardless of how you contribute, we are grateful for your support. Thanks to your donations, the Ballard NW Senior Center provides more than 4,000 seniors from Ballard, Magnolia, and Queen Anne with services. Look through the web site, stop by, or give us a call and you will start to get the picture of center life and see why this senior center is a wonderful place, whether you are 50 or 100.

“A few years ago my husband passed away unexpectedly. I didn’t have any family in the area and I was alone and depressed. I went to the Ballard Senior Center and it was such an uplifting experience to go there to have a meal and to talk to someone. I am a baby boomer senior and like to do things for myself, but the Ballard Senior Center was such a huge help for me—and in a way, a lifesaver. ” — grateful wife

The Ballard Northwest Senior Center does so much for so many and is a one stop shop for those 50 and above and their families. Think of yourself, mom, dad, grandparent, aunt, uncle, friend or neighbor and what you or they may enjoy, want or need now or in the future. This is the place in the Ballard, Magnolia, Crown Hill and surrounding areas where it all happens. A friendly lunch spot, a workout center, a movie with friends, a Wednesday night dinner, a health and wellness center, take a class, talk to a lawyer or financial planner or make some jewelry and on it goes.

“Dad wasn’t eating well and seemed to have little interest after our Mom passed. Someone suggested he go to the center. Now, he has lunch friends, takes a class or two, and might exercise on occasion. What a difference! He is interested again in life” — A grateful son

Donate Holiday Items

Holiday Bazaar
Email Carolynw@soundgenerations.org or call (206) 297-0403 for more information.
Our spectacular Bazaar is in November. Last year many donations of expertly crafted items, such as handmade blankets, aprons, and wall hangings were donated and delighted people who came to shop. Delicious baked goods were made the day of the Bazaar, and the lunch provided in the café was wonderful. People looked through the fantastic holiday items people had donated to the center and bought many of them. This is an important event as it is one of the last fundraisers the Center does each year.

Please let us know if you plan to bring “goodies” for us to sell or would like to join a group to come bake items ahead of time for the Holiday Bazaar. Gifts, hand crafted items, Holiday decorations (new & used), and baked goods are welcome. People interested in using our Craft Room to work on projects are welcome.
