Counseling and Support

Social Worker Carleen

My job at the Center is to provide support to participants so I invite you to take advantage of the service.  Please do not hesitate to make an appointment with me.

NOTICE 1:  Watch for flyers on Bulletin Boards advertising visits to retirement communities starting May 2019.

Tuesdays, 1:00 pm – 2:45 pm

Adult coloring can be very therapeutic.  Some days the group is quietly working away and other days the discussions become very lively.  No experience necessary and all supplies are provided

If you would rather not be part of a group, then come to work one-on-one with the Social Worker who is an Art Therapist.  You can bring something you are already working on or use the supplies provided and explore for the first time.  If there is something you are interested in, come and talk about facilitating it.

2nd Thursday of the month, 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

Come to the safe environment of the Social Services Office to discuss what change(s) faces us whether we like it or not.  Our memory, our hearing, our vision, our mobility or other health issues get our attention.  Loss of family, friends, pets can get in the way of moving forward.  What if we need to change living environments?  Share your thoughts/feelings with Social Worker and/or other participants.

2nd Thursday of the month, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm

4th Thursday of the month, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm

For Caregivers the day never ends whether you are working with your care receiver or you are thinking about them and trying to figure out how all their needs can be met.  A day, a week or a month can go by without your own self-care being addressed.  Maintaining your physical and emotional health is very important.  Come to the Social Services Office to meet with other providers to share information and receive the support you need and deserve.

Fridays, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Do you do kniting, embroidery, crocheting, beadwork, applique or other fiber arts?  Do you work with paper arts?  Do you like to watercolor?  Bring you project with you to the Social Services Office and be creative in a group setting.  Share ideas and/or materials if you wish.  Enjoy a creative time together!
